A native New Yorker, Gayle Rutledge was always a strong athlete, and growing up on Long Island , it was almost mandatory to play lacrosse! Gayle joined the first team available to her, playing on the high school Varsity team as an 8th grader (one of the youngest players on the team). After her fist game, she was addicted to the sport, and became a serious offensive weapon. As 2nd Home, she was the 3rd highest scorer on the team through her 5 years of play.

Upon graduating, she attended Marist College ( Poughkeepsie , NY ). There Gayle assisted in the development of the club team for the private college. She became a role model for the new freshman, and loved watching the players grow together as a team. It was an amazing experience for her to see the sport become a Division 1 team before she graduated in 1998.

Gayle relocated from New York City to Alpharetta in May of 2005 and has always dreamed of becoming a Women ' s Lacrosse Coach. She has always wanted to give young women the desire to succeed– as well as have fun. Gayle believes athletics and team sports are responsible for many of her successes, and wants to help other young women realize their potential. She is extremely grateful to have been with the AHS team since 2006, and is excited for more seasons to come.

Off the field, Gayle is a freelance Graphic Designer and Project Manager for a Design firm in Midtown. Her & her husband David recently opened The Red Hen, and breakfast & lunch café on Windward Parkway. When shes not working at either place, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and daughter Sophie.
