This year's 16 NCLL playoff teams were announced late Sunday night as the teams to compete in this year's NCLL National Tounrament. For the third consecutive year, the Tigers have finished the season ranked within the top 16 teams in the nation. They will have an opportunity to play during Championship Weekend at the US Naval Academy on May 4th-6th with a win this weekend in the Sweet 16. The Sweet 16 allows the higher seed in each matchup to host a home playoff game before the winner of the matchup heads to Annapolis next weekend to compete in the Elite 8, to be a part of Championship Weekend.

This year, Towson has drawn the University of Maryland in round one and will travel down I-95 to play in College Park on a date and time (this weekend) that has yet to be determined. 

The season finale victory over crosstown rival Loyola on Friday April 20th propelled the Tigers into the playoff picture. Towson was sitting on the outside of the playoff "bubble" going into Friday's 7-6 thriller, even though they sat at #9 in the national rankings. Towson finished the 2012 season with a record of 11-5 and in 5th place in the Chesapeake Conference. 

Their playoff hopes were in question due to the league standard that only the top 4 teams in each conference are able to be given a playoff bid. However, due to the extreme competetiveness of the Chesapeake Conference this year, the selection commitee granted each of the 6 teams in the conference a playoff bid (Towson, Navy, Delaware, Loyola, Salisbury, Maryland).

Heading into this weekend's matchup against the Terps, Towson looks looks to advance to the Elite 8 for the second time in the past 3 seasons. They look to bounce back from a Fall loss to Maryland in the championship of the Fall Brawl tournament. That loss to the Terps was Towson's one and only loss in the Fall season, giving the Tigers a bit of an incentive to extend their four-game winning streak into Championship Weekend at the US Naval Academy.

Towson Men's Club lacrosse has made the National Final Round of 18!

After a disappointing 0-5 record to start the season, the Tigers have won 10 of their last  12 games to roll into the playoff picture - and found out late last night that they had solidified a playoff spot with an undefeated 3-0 record in the UMBC Tournament on Sunday, April 17.

Towson Club will play against the University of Maryland in the first round of the playoffs on Friday, April 25th at 7:30PM at the University of Maryland "The Turf Fields" Complex next to The Comcast Center (UMD basketball arena).

This will be a rematch of the second game of the Tiger's young season, which resulted in a 10-7 finish in favor of the Terps. Towson looks to get revenge and keep their winning streak alive to make their way to the next round at Penn State on Monday, April 28th.
