TEAM RELENTLESS

Team RELENTLESS is one team, currently at the 5th/6th grade age group, under the Starz umbrella. They will compete in the Starz organization as well as tournaments in Vail, Colorado, Park City, UT, and Princeton, NJ. General Manager Brian Eisenberg set out to develop a team of skilled and dedicated Lacrosse players that was backed by very supportive families. Each player / family is asked to pay a nominal fee and all other team expenses are covered by a Corporate sponsor.

The plan behind this team is to not only develop a very competitive Lacrosse team but also to have this team make a positive impact in the Lacrosse community as well as World! TEAM RELENTLESS has chosen to support the HEADstrong Foundation. (For information on the HEADstrong Foundation please go to the menu)

3rd Annual Nick Colleluori Classic - Nov 25, 2009

Recently Chuck Dotson and Randy Warner represented Team Relentless at the 3rd Annual Nicholas Collelouri Classic. This annual college Lacrosse event is held in the hometown of Nick Collelouri, Ridley, PA. There were a total of 17 Division 1 and 3 college teams participating in the 2 day event which raised over $175,000 for the HEADstrong Foundation. The Collelouri family recently put together a video to share with everyone on what this day means and how important this cause is. Please click the link to see the Video as Team Relentless is recognized by the Collelouri family on the field.

2010 Team Selection - Oct 13, 2009

As the 2010 youth lacrosse season is about to get started we wanted to provide you with some information as to what TEAM Relentless will be looking for. The team will compete at the U15 age division which will be primarily made of 1995 and 1996 birth year players. We are looking for both players and parents that conduct themselves properly on and off the field. Players will need to have a high level of lacrosse skills and knowledge, a willingness to play as a team not an individual. We are looking for kids that Hustle all the time as that is the only way you can be on TEAM Relentless. If you poses these qualities we will find you this Winter. Last season was amazing and this season plans to be bigger. Check back soon for more information on the plans for the upcoming Summer.

Relentless Season Recap - Aug 3, 2009

The inaugural season for TEAM Relentless is over and what a season it was. The goal at the beginning was to give a group of players an opportunity to learn and play the game at the highest level for their age and represent a cause that would help help and promote blood cancer awareness. First and foremost the team did an exceptional job of being ambassadors for the HEADstrong foundation. From wearing of the Lime Green uniforms to the participation in Score for A Cure which generated $22,500 for HEADstrong. The team had the opportunity to meet the Collelouri family in person this summer which brought everything full circle. As Cheryl said this was meant to be. From having Brett Moyer coach the team who played with Nick Collelouri at Hofstra, to the Collelouri's running into Chuck Dotson in Boston at the Final Four. This was a life changing experience for all involved.

On the Lacrosse side the team played 51 games over 4 months. Finished with a record of 39 wins - 11 losses - and 1 tie. They scored 430 goals(8.4 a game) and gave up 123(2.4 per game). They played teams from California, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Texas, New York, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. The team played tournaments in Vail Colorado, Park City Utah, and Princeton New Jersey as well as the Adrenaline Smackdown locally.

The friendships these kids have made will never be forgotten as they have spent so much time together practicing, playing and living together over the summer.

The inaugural season is just the start for Team Relentless. Planning is already underway for the 2010 team. There are no tryouts for TEAM Relentless it is invite only. Invites are not just for the players but parents as well. We will be on the look out at the upcoming Winter Lacrosse season for the players and parents who conduct themselves well both on and off the field.

2009 STARZ Cup Champions - Aug 3, 2009

TEAM Relentless finished its amazing season by winning the STARZ Cup Championship on Sunday. The team had to play 3 games all back to back to win the cup. The first game was against the RC Carolina team which they won 9 - 0 to move on to the Semi-finals. They beat the SD Shredderz in the semi final 8 -1 and moved them into the Championship game against the RC Silver team. The Championship was a tough match as it was the 3rd game in a row and the team was missing 3 midfielders, however in the end TEAM Relentless was still playing strong and beat RC Silver 8 - 4 to win the STARZ Cup Championship and become the first team to knock off RC from winning the Championship. The team went undefeated in the STARZ league and the Adrenaline Smackdown.

Smackdown Results - Jul 26, 2009

Team Relentless laid the smackdown at the Adrenaline Smackdown. The 2009 Adrenaline Smackdown at Claremont College was a great way for the team to finish the last tournament of the year. The team went 10 - 0 winning the Championship against a combo South Bay / Orange County Team 7 -1. The team scored 116 goals and gave up 13 for the entire tournament. Team Relentless dominated every aspect of the games - faceoffs, groundballs, offense, defense, special teams. To top it off they also won the Lacrosse Dodgeball Championship and earned a team Pizza Party from the Adrenaline Staff. The tournament was a great few days for the team to spend in the dorms with the coaches and teammates!

Note From Cheryl Collelouri to the Team - Jul 16, 2009

TEAM RELENTLESS

We have thought of little else than the absolutely amazing time we had on Sunday and the impact the boys made on our family.  It meant so much to us to meet these wonderful boys and their families.  We feel so close to them, it's difficult to explain.  It just felt so natural.  It is beyond our intelligence level and imagination that this foundation has been accepted by so many and grown so quickly.  I chuckle to myself when I reflect back about how determine Nick was to get HEADstrong up and running and he said believe me, Mom, my brotherhood, this lacrosse community will never turn their back on me.  How can a 19 year old dealing cancer and facing uncertainty know this?  This he was certain of.

We have read and reread the book and shared it with our family and friends.  It tells the most incredible story and we know that you played a very signficant role in it.

We feel that it was truly an honor to be part of Nicholas' life but to have other people recognize the kind of person he was reminds us just how special he was and how important his life was and that together we will make sure he is never forgotten.  From my heart I thank you so much for this.  If it evident that the boys are learning from Nick and we know that he is so proud of them.  At their ages to make a difference in this world and to understand that they have made a difference, these young men are already a cut above the rest.

We can't even put into words the appreciation we feel towards the efforts of the boys and their families.  Team RELENTLESS has raised the bar and set the example of what we want each team that represents Nick to be.  They are the HEADstrong pioneers, our ambassadors of the west.  We look forward to watching them grow in their lives and in the game.

Please share my words with the boys and the parents.   We will issue a press release regarding Score for a Cure and will list the boys names on our website.  We plan to come out your way and support the boys next summer.  Please keep us posted on the dates.  We are working on a large high school event in Cleveland June 16th - 20th, just in the planning stages at this point.

In closing, thank you so much for helping us combat the disease that took Nick from us.  Nick fought a Relentless battle against Lymphoma and this team has adopted his word.  Relentless - never give up - that was our Nick.   It just wasn't in his vocabulary and we can see the same determination in the boys, the word is very fitting for this team.

Thank you for recognizing our cause and we thank Nick who is responsible for all this.   Wherever you go, we ask that you take a piece of Nick with you.

P.S.  We love the sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, etc. and will wear them proudly.
