SOU Splits Weekend

Portland,OR- SOU travelled to Portland,OR for two games this past weekend against the University of Portland and Seattle University.  On Saturday SOU fell in a key divisional game against the Pilots of Portland.  Portland jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead and never looked back.  SOU's offense was not able to find a rythym having a poor shooting day.  SOU started the day with 13 players and ended with 11.  A bright spot of the game was Freshman #1 Oliver Reese who did very well at the face-off X.

On Sunday SOU took on Seattle University for the first time in history.  SOU's offense was a wake on Sunday jumping out to a 7-2 halftime lead led by Sophomore Midfielder #2 Auberon Dones who scored 4 of SOU's first 5 goals.  Dones ended the day with 4 goals and 2 assists.  SOU started the game with only 1 sub and that was reduced to none when #3 LSM Kritzer got injured in the 2nd qt.  SOU played Iron Man lacrosse the rest of the way which led to some nostalgia for those who have been around the team since the beginning. Play of the game was Senior Defense man #12 Zach Humphrey throwing a 40 yard pass for an assist to #94 Connor Mason.  In the end SOU defeated Seattle 10-8.

Hats off to Seattle.  They represent themselves very well and will be a good addition to the PNCLL next season.

Game ball went to Freshman #1 Oliver Reese who showed a great attitude and outstanding work ethic as he took face-offs, played LSM, offensive middie, and on man-down.

Next up the Raiders travel to Caldwell,ID to take on the Yotes in another PNCLL-South Division game.  Game time is 1pm on Saturday.
