SOU Says Goodbye to Six Seniors

Ashland, OR- SOU Men's Lacrosse Team would like to thank and acknowledge the six Seniors starting with....

#26 Goalie Zach Kowalski.  This was Zach's only season playing for the Raiders but it couldn't have come at a better time as SOU did not have any other Goalies.  Zach started all 13 games for the Raiders, faced 423 shots, made 140 saves against 131 goals allowed for a save % of 51.7%  K-Wall, as his teammates call him, averaged 10.7 saves per game.

#8 Defense Jaren Breault was a 5th Year Senior for SOU after taking 2016 off.  Over his career Jaren played in 53 games at both LSM and Close Defense.  Jaren picked up 33 Ground Balls and caused 20 turnovers over his career and was a starter on Defense for his Senior season.

#2/#57 Sam Taylor was also a 5th Year Senior after having a medical redshirt in 2016.  Sam is originally from Ashland, OR and had not played Lacrosse until SOU.  At first he played midfield for SOU but then moved to Close Defense where he was a two year starter.  Over his career Sam picked up 68 GB's, scored 7 Goals, handed out 2 Assists and caused 81 Turnovers.  Sam also took Face-offs for the Raiders winning 13 of 22 in 2017. 

#6 Harley Humphrey joined the Raiders in the Fall of 2013 as a Face-off Specialist.  Harley started at this position for the Raiders for the past two seasons earning All PNCLL 2nd Team in 2016 and 1st Team All PNCLL in 2017.  Harley was also named MCLA All-American in 2017.  Over his career Harley picked up 198 ground balls, scored 13 goals and 8 assists.  Harley won 414/677 face-offs he took in his four years. 

#7- Ari Feldman really had his breakout season his Junior year at SOU.  After tallying 14 goals in his first two seasons combined he put 30 in during his Junior season earning 2nd Team All-PNCLL.  Ari followed that up by being named a Captain for the 2017 season and led all SOU midfielders in scoring with 25 goals and 17 assists.  This earned Ari a spot on the 1st Team All-PNCLL list in 2017.  In his 4 seasons he scored 69 goals, 39 assists, picked up 75 GB's in his 50 games played. 

#23 Taylor Harrison is leaving SOU as the RaiderHawks most decorated player of All-Time being named an All-American for 3 straight seasons.  Harrison was named ALL-PNCLL all four seasons at SOU, 3 times to the 1st Team.  Harrison was also named the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year in the PNCLL.  Most importantly Harrison was named an MCLA Scholar Athlete for 3 of his 4 years showing what it really means to be a student-athlete.  Harrison will leave multiple SOU records which will be very difficult to break which include: Most Games Started 56, Most Caused Turnovers in a Season 94 in 2017, Most Caused Turnovers in a Career 305 (2014-2017), Most Ground Balls in a Season- 125 ( 2014), and Most Ground Balls in a Career with 437 (2014-2017).    Taylor also scored 33 goals and handed out 23 assists.
