2008 Texas A&M Fall Classic Champions Game Preview: Texas Tech - Feb 4, 2010 The last time these two teams met in the regular season, Texas Tech came away with a big LSA North win over SMU by a score of 13-8. Key contributors to the Red Raiders offense were departed seniors, Clayton Schneider (6 Goals) and Bryce Wolf (2 Goals; 3 Assists). The Mustang offense was led by then junior, Riker Vermilye (3 Goals). Two weeks later, SMU was able to settle the score with a quarterfinal playoff victory over Texas Tech in Dallas. The Mustangs offense exploded for nineteen goals, the highest total on the season. Juniors, Tolar Hamblen (3 Goals) and Colin Ward (3 Goals), paced the offense as SMU looked to build momentum entering the Lone Star Alliance Final Four. Continuing a trend of recent season openers, the Mustangs and Red Raiders renew competition for the 2010 season on February 6th in Lubbock. Senior Co-Captains, Tolar Hamblen and Riker Vermilye, look to continue last year's success on their way to the program's first conference championship.
