The 2012 Santa Clara Men's Lacrosse team faced off against WCC rival St, Mary's on the newly renovated Bellomy Field.  The party on the new carpet was successful with the Broncos coasting to a 12-5 victory in their only home contest of the fall season.

Santa Clara controlled the game from the onset, opened the scoring early and never looked back. The first quarter ended with a 2-1 lead which was extended to 4-1 at halftime.  SCU pulled away in the third pushing out to a 8-1 lead and held on in the fourth for the victory.  All players suited up saw field time in the victory.

Leading the team on offense were freshman attachman Joey Coleman and soph. AJ Von Massenhausen with 3 goals and 1 assist apiece. Other multi-point scorers were soph. Scott Wheaton (2-1), soph Sean Kinzer (1-1). Seniors Mark Montalban, Joe O'Brien and freshman Joey Harpstite each had single tallies while fresh Rick Kawala, sophs Robby Inch and Dan Bohnert had helpers.

On the back line, senior Matt Baker and freshmen CJ Toy, Rawley Loken and Conner O'Brien contributed solid performances.  Goalies Jake Barz and Eric Dunn each made 5 saves in keeping St. Mary's at bay on the beautiful day on the Mission Campus.

Next up for the Bronco laxers are the Falcons from Diablo Valley Junior College.  SCU travels to Concord on Saturday night for a 7:15 PM contest.
