On Sunday, the Broncos faced the SLC Division 1 USC Trojans at the historic Cromwell Track Stadium.  SCU jumped out to the early lead when jr. midfielder Jonathan Fallers converted a feed from linemate jr. Paul LaLonde .  USC briefly took the lead with two quick goals to make it 2-1.  The Broncos then went on a twelve goals run before USC ended the half trailing 13-3.

Leading the way in the first half were Fallers (5 goals, 2 assists), linemate sr. Mark Swoboda (2-2) and the attack trio of sr. Liam Byrne (2-0), jr. Charlie Ellis (3-2) and fr. Dylan Panzarella (2-5).  Freshman midfielder Alex Miller (1-0) also notched his first career goal in the half.

Sophomore defensemen Dan Zimmerman (1-0) went end to end on a clear to notch his first goal of the season to open the thrid quarter scoring. After Fallers converted a feed from Panzarella during an extraman opportunity, USC scored three to get the contest closer at 15-6 but they couldn't sustain their momentum due to a rash of penalties late in the quarter.  The SCU extraman unit converted 4 of 8 EMO tries for the day.

All 30 on the active roster saw action in the contest which ended 18-9.

Santa Clara returns to action next Saturday when they meet conference rival and the MCLA # 11 ranked Sonoma State Seawolves at Foothill High School in Pleasanton.  Game time is 2:00 pm.
