Santa Clara Tops Zags 8-4Mar. 2, 2008 Two days after winning an emotional divisional contest against Cal, Santa Clara defeated visiting WCC rival Gonzaga 8-4 to improve to an overall record of 4-2. The Broncos jumped out to a 4-1 first quarter lead then was able to play all healthy and dressed players as they held on for the win. In all, 9 players registered points while junior goalkeeper Michael Ford notched 14 saves in the win. Having another outstanding game at the center square was face-off specialist, freshman Brian McGlynn who won 9 of 15 draws. Santa Clara, 4-2 travel to Palo Alto on Saturday to take on the Stanford cardinal in a WCLL Central Division game at 1:00 PM.
