Dear Alumnus, Parent, or Friend of Bronco Lacrosse,

 

On Saturday, May 9, 2015, the Santa Clara University Lacrosse Program will be hosting its 8th Annual Lacrosse Golf Classic & Banquet at the Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club in Santa Clara, California.

 

Santa Clara is proud to have alumna Greg Mengis (’94) as Head Coach.  In his inaugural season at the helm, Coach Mengis led the team to their first winning record in five years, an upset over nationally ranked UC Berkeley (#23) in their opening league game, and their first win over an NCAA opponent as they defeated NDNU this year to capture the Wavey Cup, in honor of Coach Rick Blick.  The team narrowly missed playoffs, but is excited for its upcoming future, and competitiveness in the WCLL.

Due to our club sport status, Santa Clara University provides limited financial support for the budget the Lacrosse team needs to operate and continue to play.  Expenses for coaches, uniforms, equipment and travel still must be covered.  In order to cover these expenses and keep competitive on a national level, we rely on significant support through fundraising. 

 

The 2015 Golf Classic will be a scramble format, followed by our banquet. There will be opportunities to enter a putting contest, as well as opportunities to win more prizes throughout the course (casino hole, longest drive, closest to the pin, etc), along with our raffle during the banquet with prizes.  Shotgun start at 1:30 p.m.  Make sure to arrive early to have time to hit a free bucket of balls and to participate in our putting contest.  Check in starts at 11:30 a.m.If you can’t make the tournament, there is still an option to attend our banquet. We hope to see you at these events to celebrate the 2015 Lacrosse Golf Classic, and celebrate the successful season of this year’s Bronco Lacrosse Program!  If you are unable to attend, we would be grateful for any assistance.
