Santa Clara Lacrosse is pleased to announce that SCU Alumnus Greg Mengis will be the new head coach of Santa Clara Lacrosse.

As a coach, Greg's philosophy stresses a positive attitude, working as a team, and mastering the fundamentals.  Coach Mengis was recently inducted into the Santa Clara University Lacrosse Hall of Fame, where he played Lacrosse for four years, earning Team Captain and Coaches Award honors.  He is a two-time WCLL All Star, and helped lead Santa Clara to the WCLL Final Four three years in a row.  Before tearing his ACL halfway through his senior year, Greg was ranked in the NCAA National top 10 in points as an attack man.  Greg has stayed active playing and coaching Lacrosse.  Greg is a Program Director for Team NorCal, where he has coached U11, U13, U15, and High School teams to considerable success in regional and national tournaments over the last 6 years.  He has played a number of seasons with the Palo Alto Club Lacrosse team and has coached with both the  Diablo Scorpions and Palo Alto Tomahawks club teams.  Greg has been the Head Coach of the Los Altos High School Varsity Lacrosse team for the past 5 years, where he has led the team to a 32-4 division record and two league championships over the past 3 years.  In 2010 he founded the Fremont Lacrosse Club to help youth in the Eastbay experience the fastest game on two feet.  Greg is excited to return to his alma mater, and help lead SCU back to winning ways in the MCLA!

Greg will be a great addition to the Bronco Lacrosse Program and the team is looking forward to having a succesful season.
