Lindsay FeigSanta Barbara, CA - Former University of Redlands assistant coach Lindsay Feig has accepted the head women's lacrosse coach position for the SBCC women's lacrosse club. Feig was first assistant at Redlands, an NCAA Division III program, the last two years following a successful playing career as a goal keeper. Feig will also coach at UCSB as an assistant charged with the goal keepers. UCSB assistant coach Jillian Boyd had been pulling triple duty coaching the UCSB B Team, SBCC and Laguna Blanca High School.

"Feig and I met coaching at a clinic in Orange County this past spring and I invited her to come coach at our summer camp," said UCSB head coach Paul Ramsey commenting on the SBCC addition.

"She did a great job both times and the wheels started turning as we'd been looking for a way to free up some time for Jillian."

SBCC is a starting point for many UCSB students as they earn the units and the GPA needed to transfer. SBCC and UCSB have a guaranteed transfer agreement for students who complete 60 units with a 3.2 GPA. Having a coaching staff involved in both programs ultimately leads to a better situtation for all the students involved.

Feig had this to say about her new position, "I am so excited to take the job at SBCC. I have enjoyed seeing the game spread in the Orange County area and helping spread the game to Santa Barbara and teaching the game to a new group of players is thrilling.

"I look forward to showing the game to new players as well as improving the skills of the veteran players and creating a competitive team," added Feig.

Feig will be on the SBCC campus for her first day on the job Monday. Fall Ball starts Tuesday, August 24th, for the Vaqueros with a week of beginner lessons and then try-outs start Tuesday, August 31st.

Following her successful Bulldog career on the field, Feig returned to Redlands in 2008 as the assistant women’s lacrosse coach after serving as a team leader on the women’s lacrosse team as a two-year captain. A New England native, Feig had a standout career as a goalkeeper for the women’s lacrosse team at Redlands. She received First-Team All-Region honors in 2008, ranked 15th in Division III in save percentage (.537) in 2008 and holds the program records for career saves (424), saves in a season (161 in 2008) and saves in a game (21).

In addition to her Bulldog coaching duties, Feig coached the goalkeepers for Team OC, an elite lacrosse club in Orange County the last two years. She is an avid fan of the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Patriots and the New England Revolution. Feig received her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Redlands in 2008. She recently received a Master degree in Higher Education at Redlands.
