Boys Ages 8 - 18 / JUNE 8, 9, & 10 / Armstrong Atlantic State University
 
THE PROGRAM
To provide a well-rounded, concentrated session of clinical instruction tailored for both the experienced and inexperienced player.With an emphasis on individual instruction and a staff to camper ratio of 8-1, the daily schedule will included fundamentals during the morning session and game situations in the afternoon session. Day and Overnight Camp options available.

DIRECTORS
Joe Alberici Head Lacrosse Coach at the United States Military Academy for the past five years after spending nine years as Associate Head Coach at Duke University. He helped lead Duke to 7 NCAA Tournaments -2 Final Fours – a National Final - 2 ACC Championships and coached 43 players named to the All-American Team. He was an Assistant on the Army Staff 1995 and 1996; Army posted a 10-5 record and went to the NCAA Tourney in ’96. Prior to that stint at Army, he was the Head Coach at Oneonta State for one season and was named Empire Lacrosse League Coach of the Year.A 1991 graduate of Alfred University, Alberici was a two-time lacrosse All-American in 1990 and 1991 and also garnered Academic All-America accolades as a senior.Coach Alberici was recently named an Assistant Coach for the U.S. National Lacrosse Team that will compete at the 2010 World Lacrosse Championships in Manchester, England. In 2007, he was also appointed to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Board of Directors, the sport's national governing body.
Dan Umbel - Dan began playing lacrosse in Miami, FL in 9th grade not knowing where it would take him.In his senior year of high school he was recruited by Mike Pressler to be a defenseman for Duke University.At Duke he was a four year letterman and played almost every game of his career, including 3 NCAA Tournaments – 1 Final Four – and an ACC Championship.Following graduation he was selected to play for the German National Lacrosse Team and honored to be named to the All European team anchoring Germany’s first European Championship squad after beating England for the title.Dan was fortunate to be coached by Joe Alberici during his time at Duke and since graduating in 1999 has joined the coaching ranks; coaching college, high school, & youth lacrosse programs.He is currently involved with lacrosse in and around Savannah as the Director of Coastal Empire Lacrosse, LLC.


STAFF
Our camp staff is made up of the entire West Point coaching staff; please click on the menu above titled Meet the Staff to read their extensive biographies. On staff also are the top high school and youth coaches in the Coastal Empire from Savannah, Charleston, Hilton Head, Bluffton, Columbia, and Jacksonville. We also have former West Point graduates who currently serve our country and are stationed at Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. We are proud to say that our camp staff is among the best in the country!
 
  • Mac Diange, Asst Coach Army, 2010 NCAA National Assistant Coach of the Year
  • Kyle Georgalas, Asst Coach Army, Kyle Georgalas, a former first team All-Ivy League, honorable mention All-America selection and later five-year assistant coach at Cornell, joined Army's lacrosse staff as an assistant coach in August 2011.
  • Al Brown, Head Coach, Portsmouth Abbey, Coach Brown is a former assistant football coach at Bates College and Alfred University.   He was an All-American lacrosse player at C.W. Post College in 1974 & 1975, former Head Coach at Alfred University, NY and Bates College, ME.  College Division III Coach of the Year 1993, author of Coaching Youth Lacrosse.
  • Jack Emmer, Retired as Head Coach at Army in 2005 as the all-time winningest coach in Division 1 with 326 wins, served as Head Coach of the 2002 US National Lacrosse Team

FACILITIES
Located in Savannah, GA, the Armstrong Atlantic State University campus is conveniently located near major interstates. Our Boys Lacrosse Camp takes place on the school’s brand new bermuda grass fields located in the heart of the campus next to the Campus Recreation Center. The spacious turf allows for 4 fields of use. Directions to the fields can be found in our Facilities section on the menu bar above. Overnight accomidations take place in the schools brand new Freshman Dorms - Winward Commons. The dorms are Suite Style, two campers to a room, with a private bathroom; recreation facility featuring small movie theater, pool tables, and TVs are available for all overnight campers. DAILY SCHEDULE
  • 9:00am - Field Session--skill work, position tutoring
  • 12:00pm - Lunch In the Galley (Airconditioned)
  • 1:00pm - Extra Skills Session
  • 1:45pm - Afternoon Session--Team Concepts, Games
  • 3:00pm - Camp Ends - Day Campers Dismissed
  • 4:00pm - Pool Time for Overnight Campers
  • 5:30pm - Dinner in the Galley and Free Time in Rec Center
  • 7:30pm - Movie and Pizza Orders Accepted
  • 10:00pm - Campers in Room - Room Check
 

 

 
TUITION AND PAYMENT
Full Day
The cost for the Full Session for Boys ages 8-18 is $335.
  • Covers 18 hours of instruction 9am – 3pm each day, lunch, jersey, huge camp raffle, and use of training facilities during the camp session.
Overnight
The cost for the Overnight Session for Boys ages 10-18 is $435
  • Covers all instruction, two night airconditioned dorm stay, breakfast, lunch, and dinner; jersey, huge camp raffle, and use of training facilities and recreation facilities.
Half Day
The Half Day option is exclusive to Boys ages 8-11 and costs $175.
  • Covers instruction from 9am – 12pm each day (lunch not included), jersey, huge camp raffle, and use of training facilities.
Payment in full is due by June 8th and is non refundable after June 10th.
 
 
INSURANCE AND MEDICAL INFORMATION
Accidental/Medical coverage for this camp program will be provided on an excess secondary basis. Parent's insurance is the primary carrier; camp insurance is the secondary carrier. A full time medical staff member will be present at all camp activities to assist in the healthcare of each camper. Medical forms must be completed by the camper prior to participation. The form will be emailed to you upon reciept of your registration.

 

WHAT TO BRING
All campers are required to bring: Lacrosse Stick, Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Elbow Pads, Gloves, Mouth Guard, and Cleats or Turf Shoes. Past campers have found it helpful to also bring sun block, bug spray, an extra T-Shirt, extra socks, and a towel.
 
EQUIPMENT PURCHASE PROGRAM
If you need to purchase equipment, we have a partnership with Low Country Lacrosse Store who will offer a 10% discount on all in-stock equipment to our campers. Your registration must be complete in order to take advantage of this discount. For equipment questions and/or to place an order, please call Jeff Mayer or Tom Harris at 1-877-8LOWLAX. You can also visit them at www.lowlax.com. They will ship your equipment directly to your home prior to camp.

 

RENTAL EQUIPMENT AVAILABILITY
Limited Rental Equipment is available, first come basis. Boys Loaner Equipment Fee: $50 with $200 refundable security deposit.
