Raiders Varsity Offense Struggles at WBL

Box Score

Bookmark and Share Printer Friendly May. 2, 2016

Once again, the Raiders offense stuggled to generate good scoring chances putting in 1 out of 4 of their shots on goal, with the best chances coming on the transition game rather than the set offense. Frequently the set offense showed some good sharp movement, but kept passing until either the defense caught up with them or there was some sort of turnover. The Raiders didn't even take very many shots that went wide of the goal. Meanwhile White Bear Lake managed to put in 16 on 24 shots on goal. The Bears took advantage of many extra opportunites on faceoffs, winning 19 of 21 faceoffs in the game and diirectly scoring seconds into each of the first 3 periods off faceoff wins (plus a second goal in 3rd, only 15 seconds in). The Roseville goal was credited to sophmore Sean Mark, with an assist from Senior Austin Larson (unofficial). Eight different players scored for WBL, with two of their players getting four each.
