Extra possessions and scoring opportunities off face-offs were the difference in a Varsity 8-9 overtime loss that had all the fans on their feet at the end of regulation time. The final face-off win by Park allowed them to claim the victory just 8 seconds after the overtime started.

The Raiders started out well, up 3-2 after one and 5-3 at the intermission. Once again, however, Roseville allowed their opponent to roll off three goals after the halftime, before answering. (The first of these was off the face-off, 18 seconds into the third.) After three quarters the score was tied at 7 each.

Park scored early in the fourth, about 90 seconds in,  on a play that I think may have started with a face-off win (we'll have to check the replay tape), for their first lead.  And it nearly ended that way.  In the final moments both teams used timeouts to try setup special plays.  It seemed it might be over when Park sent their top scorer in with about 30 seconds left,  but the defense covered the passing lanes and forced him into a crease violation.  On the following Raider attack sequence the first shot bounced just over the crossbar,  but the Raiders kept possession. The second attempt with 8 seconds left was cleanly saved and once again it seemed over, but Park turned it over attempting to clear and some how,  an unidentified Raider found and put the ball in the net with less than 1 second left to force OT, tied at 8.
