Slow Start in Varsity Loss at Mounds ViewMay. 6, 2015 Roseville Varsity needed more accurate shooting early, as they were off-target and didn't force the Mounds View goalkeeper to make a save until there was only 2:30 left in the first half. That MV save was followed by 3 more off-target shots by Roseville in rapid succession, and finally Roseville's first goal with just 47 seconds left in the first half to make it 1-3. Matt Anderson controlled the faceoff and went on the attack, but the Mounds View goalkeeper got a huge save to end out scoring chances for the first half. Roseville's offense managed 4 shots on goal in the second half, scoring on 3 of those, but Mounds View's goalkeeper made a huge save from point-blank range to stop what would have been a tying goal. Unofficially, Roseville had 21 off-target shots for the game, for a 25% on-goal shooting percentage (7 of 28). The defense played fairly well, unofficially holding MV to 5 goals on 10 shots-on-goal and 9 missed shots. Both teams struggled with clears and giving the ball away on bad passes and good defensive work. Roseville also stepped out of bounds a few times on both the end and side lines.
