2014 Alumni Weekend

Oklahoma Sooners vs. Baylor Bears
The date for the 2014 OU Alumni weekend has been set! The OU Lacrosse program has a lot of great things going on and we would like you to be a part of it. Some of the new projects undertaken are a Parents Association, Alumni Association, and a new online team store. This is a very important year for the alumni. The team has hit a huge milestone with these organizations and they need our support! There will be a few changes this year compared to previous alumni weekend:
Alumni will receive 2014 team reversibles instead of t-shirts
Alumni game will count as one of two fully officiated fall scrimmages for the team as they prepare for an ambitions Spring campaign.
The tailgate will be much improved and fully catered!
Tentative Agenda: (Assuming the football game is a night game)
- Friday: We will have a meet and greet at a bar Friday night as people come in. (Bar TBD)
- Saturday: We will start the tailgate at an early time so people can come eat and drink and still have time to go into the game early.
- Sunday: Alumni game will start at 10:00am. (We will let you know if there is a time change) Everyone is expected to be there early to stretch, meet the players, and be ready to go at 10:00am.
Cost: The cost this year is $80 per person. This includes a fully catered tailgate, 2014 team reversible, and a fully officiated scrimmage. Any additional funds leftover will be donated to the team. We will have a list of confirmations at the tailgate so Alumni can check in. You must pay the dues to eat/drink and play in the Alumni game!
Football Tickets: I would suggest buying tickets in advance for this game. It will be the biggest game in the Big12 this year (College GameDay Maybe?).
Lodging Options: Plan ahead and check for rooms at the local hotels. Again, this is going to be a very popular weekend for Sooner fans so don’t wait until the last minute to find something.
Action Items - Confirmation: Please complete the following steps by October 8th to confirm your attendance.
Remember, $80 is the minimum and we strongly encourage everyone to make a larger donation to the club while registering and confirming your spot in Alumni weekend.
There will be unique OU Lacrosse prizes given out at the beginning of the weekend to the two highest donations (measured by calculating the donation above the $80 fee per person in the registration).
Also, there will be a “silent auction” of unique OU Lacrosse items as well as additional donation opportunities at the tailgate.
In summary, this year is a huge year for the OU Lacrosse team. They are looking to make it deep into the playoffs this year and take a shot at the Lone Star Alliance Championship. The hard work has been put in to recruit great players and create these organizations to support the team. Now it is time for you to show your support. We would love to see each and every one of you this weekend so please save the date and let us know you are going!
