Last Friday in Dallas, TX, the Sooners were unable to make the statement they were hoping for as the SMU Mustangs proved why they are a perennial LSA power.

The Sooners were unable to win face-offs consistently and had trouble securing the ball in transition, as they recorded their first offensive possession several minutes into the first quarter. Freshman attackman Pete Kitsos scored two goals in the first half, but the Mustang offense proved more effective eventually gaining a 10-2 lead in the third quarter. The Sooners managed to score a few more goals in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late as Oklahoma lost by a score of 13-5.

This weekend, Oklahoma will play their 2010 home openers as they host division rival Texas Tech on Friday night and nonconference rival Nebraska on Sunday. This slate of games offers a prime opportunity for the Sooners to showcase their talents in front of their home fans against two quality teams. The team will look to earn their first divisional win and get back on track after their recent setback in Dallas.
