Mission Lacrosse ClubOceanside, CA - The first year Mission Lacrosse Club open team had two one goals losses among a 3-2 overall record at Summer Storm in their third tournament. Mission opened with a 6-7 loss to the team that advanced to the final, Diamond Cut Crew. They followed that with two convincing pool play wins Saturday before falling 6-7 to Buku Los Angeles Lacrosse Club. Then Mission wrapped up the event with a 15-2 success over Buku Orange County.

Saturday, July 11th:

Diamond Cut Crew 7, Mission LAX 6
Mission LAX 15, OC United White 2
Mission LAX 13, Diamond Cut Crew B 0

Sunday, July 12th:

Buku LA 7, Mission LAX 6
Mission LAX 15, Buku OC 3

Playing with 7th through 12th graders all on one open team and playing every player in every game Mission outscored their five opponents 54-19 and would have won a goal against tie-breaker if there had been one in the standings for their pool. Ultimately it proved true the club needed faster starts in first games of the day. Had they won just the first of their 6-7 losses they would have advanced to the final. Diamond Cut Crew were 5-0 in the pool before falling 4-1 to OC United Black in a short final, two 12 minute halves.

Mission plays in their last tournament of the summer when they host the Santa Barbara Summer Sizzle at UCSB July 25th - 26th.
