Coach Sottolano is in his fourth year of coaching the sport of lacrosse. He began after college with a youth program in Cedar Grove, NJ named the New Jersey Jetties. He has since been hired as the Junior Varsity head coach and Varsity assistant coach at Lakeland High School where he also works. Coach Sottolano hopes to get involved with a handful of other offseason programs starting this summer. Coach Sottolano’s playing career began at Northern Highlands Regional High School from 2004-2008. He went on to play club lacrosse at Roanoke College from 2008-2011 and since then has been playing some Men’s box lacrosse at a local indoor facility. He hopes to join a handful of others, especially during the offseason. His philosophy focuses on teaching his players how to become better not only on the field, but off the field as well. He believes the fundamentals of the game are the key to success, and also focuses on teaching his players to see the field. Once players fully understand all aspects of the game (i.e. knowledge and rules) the rest will follow. He is a believer that hard work and dedication to the sport will be noticed and does pay off. Besides coaching the Jetties 5 th -8 th graders year round he also works at Lakeland High School as a Special Education Aide. He hopes to become much more involved within a few of the other big name programs during the offseason so that he may continue to learn, as well as teach the sport of lacrosse.
