Note on Goals Against Average (GAA): GAA is calculated not from number of goals against divided by number of games, but rather a combo of number of games and number of minutes played. The equation to determine it is as follows:
GAA = (Goals Allowed / Minutes Played) * 48
This formula is the reason a goalie may played less than 48 minutes but his GAA will show more goals allowed than he really allowed; this is because the GAA formula shows the player's total over a 48 minute span on average.
