Recap of Parents Meeting; Warriors to play Heritage in Scrimmage

Scrimmage Set for February 16th

The JF Webb lacrosse team recently held its pre-season parents meeting on Thursday, helping to settle many details for the upcoming season.

First, a pre-season scrimmage against Heritage High School has been set for February 16th at the Diamonds at Oxford Parks (tentatively).  The first game, featuring each team's JV squad, will be at 10 am, with a Varsity game to follow at 11.  All players are expected to attend.

The opening dinner/mulch sale kick-off will be February 5th at 6 pm at the Oxford Methodist Church.  It will be a covered dish dinner and all players/parents are invited and encouraged to attend.  

The mulch sale will end March 4th.  Sale packets will be distributed to players at the opening dinner on Tue, Feb 5.  As in the past, we are selling 2 cu ft bags of hardwood mulch.  Mulch delivery will be Sat, Mar 16, 8:00 a.m. ...?  We will be meeting in the back bus parking lot.  We will need a lot of help for this sale.  Please plan now to attend the delivery day.  Players are required to attend.  Players with a conflict must see Coach Farabee.  We still need parent help.

Candy Sale - After exams, the week of Jan 28, we will begin selling candy bars to raise money for the practice outfits all players will receive.  Each box of candy contains 60 chocolate bars ($1/each).  We will make a profit of $30 on each box.  Parents - Players will need your permission to participate in the sale.  When a player is given a box to sell, he is responsible for the candy he receives.  He must return full money for the candy sold, or return unsold bars.  If he loses a box, gives candy away to friends, or eats the merchandise, he will be financially responsible for the candy.  This will be like a fine or fee from the school.  Students may not receive report cards or graduate with unpaid fees or fines.

Workouts will resume following exams.  We will practice Wed, Feb 23, 4-5:30 pm, Masonic Home.  Beginning Tue, Jan 29, we will resume Wall Ball, M/W/F, 7:10-8:00 a.m,., small gym (Mon is a school holiday).  Skill/Conditioning Workouts, Mon-Fri, 4-5:30 p.m., Masonic Home. (We will begin Tue, Feb 29)  Players wishing to play lacrosse for JF Webb this year need to be at these workouts.  Exams will be over and players should have more time to attend. The season begins Wed, Feb 13.  We have a lot to cover for both Varsity and JV teams.  Players should not forget the running tests - 2 mile run and 440 (3 x 440) run.

And last, but not least, the first Webb Lacrosse Womanless Beauty Pagent will be held March 9th at 7 pm at a TBD location.  More details will be coming in the future.
