Celts knock off CardinalsMay. 24, 2007 Michael Stergiou (2g, 4a) and Scott Ruhl (6g) stole the show Thursday night as the Celtics defeated St. Charles 12-7. The St. Charles zone defense could not contain the patient Celtic offense as they picked it apart for 6 third quarter goals to put the game out of reach. The defense did a great job of shutting down the Cardinal's main threat, Jay Laing, holding him to one shot and zero points. Gold squad was earned by the starting attack (Scott Ruhl, Michael Stergiou, and Brendan Moore), Matt DiCesare, and Tanner Seago. The Celtics travel to Worthington Kilbourne for the D1R2 Regional Finals on Saturday. Game time is TBA.
