Dublin, Ohio, November 16, 2007 --- Dublin Jerome High School today announced that Marshall Burkhart, Tyler Mordecai, Tanner Seago, and Alex VanKrevel each signed a National Letter of Intent today to play Division 1 lacrosse in college.  Burkhart and Mordecai signed with Johns Hopkins University, Seago signed with Hobart College, and VanKrevel committed to The United States Military Academy at West Point.

Marshall Burkhart, a 1st team All-Ohio, 1st team All-Region, and 1st team All-OCC midfielder, scored 36 goals and had 15 assists in 2007, while achieving a 73.49% winning percentage on face-offs.  A varsity contributor since his freshman year, Burkhart was recruited by Delaware, Denver, Maryland, and Syracuse before deciding on Johns Hopkins.

Tyler Mordecai, a 6’3, 215lb defenseman, captured 2nd team All-Ohio honors in 2006 and 2007, 2nd team All-OCC honors in 2006, and 1st team All-Region honors in 2006 and 2007.  A Team Captain since his sophomore year, Tyler chose Johns Hopkins over Dartmouth, Duke, Maryland, and Notre Dame.

Johns Hopkins University is located in Baltimore, Maryland and the school’s most prominent sports team is its Division 1 lacrosse team, which has won 44 national titles- nine NCAA Division 1, 29 USILA, and six ILA titles.  John’s Hopkins is independent and competes against Duke, Maryland, Princeton, Syracuse, and Virginia.

Tanner Seago received 1st team All-Ohio, 1st team All-Region, and 2nd Team All-OCC honors as a Long Stick Midfielder (LSM) in 2007.  In addition to his accomplishments on the lacrosse field, Tanner has maintained a 4.3GPA, is a member of National Honor Society, and will receive an academic scholarship at Hobart College.

Hobart College is located in Geneva, New York and the school’s only Division 1 program is Men’s Lacrosse.  The storied Statesman lacrosse team has compiled 16 national championships- 1 USILA, 2 NCAA Division II, and 13 NCAA Division III.  Hobart competes in the ECAC League against Fairfield, Georgetown, Loyola, Rutgers, Massachusetts, Penn State, and St. Johns.

Alex VanKrevel was second on the team in total points (behind Scott Ruhl, Towson) with 36 goals and 32 assists in 2007.  Alex was recruited by Bellarmine and St. John’s before committing to continue his career at The United States Military Academy (Army).

The United States Military Academy (also known as USMA, West Point, or Army) is located in West Point, New York and is the first United States military post.  West Point trains more United States Army officers than any other institution and a high proportion of distinguished American generals have been West Point graduates.  The Army Men’s Lacrosse Program competes in the Patriot League against Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh, and Navy.
