Celtics handle St. Charles
The Celtics continued their hot streak by opening Tuesday's game against D1R2 top-ranked St. Charles with a 9-0 halftime lead. Scott Ruhl (3g, 1a) and Matt Marina (3g, 1a) lead the scorers while Alex VanKrevel (2g, 1a), Connor Matrka (1g, 2a), Marshall Burkhart (2g, 7/11 FO), Steven Simonetti (2g), and Brendan Moore (1g) all tallied for the Celts. A dominating defensive performance was turned in by the Celtics, lead in cage by freshman Matt Horn (7 saves, 3 goals against). The Celtics defense held St. Charles scoreless until the 6:16 mark of the third period off of a screened and ricocheted Carducci shot. Both squads substituted liberally from that point.
