Scott Ruhl signs with D1 Towson

Dublin, Ohio, November 8, 2006 --- Dublin Jerome today announced that Scott Ruhl, the school’s first college Division I lacrosse player, signed a National Letter of Intent today to play at Towson University.  

Ruhl, a 6’-5’ senior, 1^st team All- Ohio midfielder, scored 40 goals with 50% accuracy in 2006 made his choice after a visiting several universities this summer. “Towson just felt right” said Ruhl. “The coaches, campus setting and players were all welcoming.  I can’t wait until this time next year when I’ll be in a Tiger uniform and prepare to play against some of the best lacrosse players in the country.” 

Towson located north of Baltimore, MD plays in the Colonel Athletic Association Conference and regularly face powerhouse lacrosse programs of Virginia, Hofstra, Maryland, and John Hopkins. Towson finished 14th in the country during 2006 according to college computer rankings.    

“Scott’s achievements are a result of his hard work and exceptional lacrosse skills,” said AJ Auld, Jerome’s head coach. “The fact that nationally ranked college programs are recruiting in central Ohio, specifically from a school that is less than three years old, is a complement to our young program. We all wish Scott the best of luck and look forward to seeing him play at the next level.”

Ruhl, a district Academic Excellence recipient and Congressional Art 12^th District Ohio 2005 award beneficiary plans to study computer science and graphics arts while attending Towson.
