Williamson completed his second season at Berry after spending four seasons at Belmont Abbey, building the program from the ground-up. He finished with a 42-32 record, highlighted by a 2009 season in which his team put together an overall record of 14-5, and a 2008 season in which Belmont Abbey went 12-7 overall and a finished with at No. 10 in the final national poll. Both seasons ended with Belmont Abbey as the Conference Carolinas runner-up. Prior to Williamson's arrival at Belmont Abbey he started the program at his alma mater, Lees-McRae College in North Carolina. Williamson spent two seasons at Lees-McRae, with a record of 6-14 overall. As a student-athlete at Lees-McRae, Williamson was a three-year starter and letter winner on the men’s lacrosse team.
