Some other young guns for the Yellow Jackets squad also got in the mix as sophomores  Ben Anzovino (Harrison/Marietta, GA), Connor Houlihan (St. Anthony’s/West Islip) and Colin Granger (Leon/Tallahassee, FL) all added a goal each. Sophomore attackman Nick Picon (Cardinal Gibbons/Boca Raton, FL) scored twice for the Jackets and rookie Mick Stapleton (Woodstock/Woodstock, GA) Junior Jeff Delong (Philips Academy/Athens, GA) assisted on three scores and senior Ryan Jarriel (McLean/Vienna, VA) added two assists of his own.

The aggressive play of the defense led by junior Philip Georgakakos (Holy Innocents/Atlanta, GA), Zach Ilisevich (Georgetown Prep/Potomac. MD) and Casey Fleming (North Forsyth/Gainesville, GA) and John Dirito (Pinecrest Academy/Norcross,GA) were solid in the keeping the Rebels offense at bay all game long.

Coach Lovic on the game, “I was happy with our performance today. Coming off a rough start versus Kennesaw State we had to re-group have a solid effort as a team. I was proud of defense all day and it was nice to see the offense generate some solid looks all day. We are a young team so each time on the field I expect us to learn and get better. ”

The Yellow Jackets next host divisional foe Alabama (1-1, 0-0 SELC Central) on Friday, February 10 followed by another home contest versus North Carolina State (0-1, 0-1 SELC North) on Sunday, February 12.
