GLC Awards Scholarship
May. 30, 2007 Mr. Jacob Burdette, Mauldin High School Senior Lacrosse Player, is recipient of Inaugural Greenville Lacrosse Club Scholarship for 2007. “in response to your 1/12/07 letter to high school varsity coaches requesting nominations for the GLC Community Scholarship Fund of $250 toward college costs, I nominate Jacob Burdette from the Mauldin HS Varsity Team. Jacob meets all your stated requirements. In addition he has received awards this season as an SCLL All-Star and Second Team All-State member. He has also received one of three Mauldin High School MAVS Awards for most Ground Balls. He received the Coaches Award last season for being the most coach able player on the team and remained so this season. Jacob is one of the most humble and hard working players on the team and always gives 100%. He deserves serious consideration for this Award. Greenville Lacrosse Club Community Scholarship FundConsistent with our mission to promote the game of lacrosse within the upstate of South Carolina, and to position ourselves as a viable member of the greater Greenville community, the Greenville Lacrosse Club has established a scholarship fund. For 2007, we will award at least one $250 scholarship to a graduating senior lacrosse player who will be attending college in the fall semester. This player must have consistently demonstrated athleticism, leadership and sportsmanship on the field, while maintaining a 3.0 grade point average for the year. Head coaches for boys and girls teams within Greenville County may nominate one player from their teams, in writing. Nominations must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2007.
