Programs
Excalibur Lacrosse Club offers both travel programs for advanced players and developmental programs for players of all levels on a year round basis. All Excalibur players must be current members of U.S. Lacrosse. Excalibur's programs are not intended to replace or take priority over a player’s school team. Excalibur Lacrosse Club is intended to provide opportunities, in addition to a player’s school team, to develop as a lacrosse player and to provide opportunities to play with and make friendships with players from other schools.
Developmental Programs
Excalibur Lacrosse Club's Developmental Programs are designed for players of all levels and focus on lacrosse fundamentals – both individual skills and team concepts and to provide the opportunity to participate in organized games. All players, experienced and beginners, are welcome and will fully participate in all practices and play in all games. While players may be grouped according to ability, there will be no “practice squads” and “game squads” where less experienced players or beginners are not exposed to more experienced players and where only more experienced players actually play in games. The Developmental Programs are opportunities for new players to be exposed to lacrosse in a positive manner with opportunities to actually play and for more experienced players to continue to work on fundamentals and develop their skills. The Developmental Programs primarily play against local competition. Excalibur's developmental programs employ the same team concepts and coaching philosophy as Excalibur's travel programs.
Travel Programs
Excalibur Lacrosse Club's travel programs are designed for advanced players and are intended to be highly competitive with try outs and a competitive environment. Depending on the number of interested players, all players may not be selected for a travel program and being selected does not guarantee playing time. The travel programs primarily play in tournaments throughout the mid-atlantic and southeast.
Excalibur Lacrosse Club offers the following year-round programs:
A. Summer - travel program participating in 3-4 tournaments.
B. Fall
1. Travel program participating in 1-2 fall tournaments.
2. Developmental program (includes speed and agility training).
C. Winter - Developmental program (includes speed and agility training).
D. Spring - Developmental program (includes games against local and regional club teams).
