Emory Defeats Divisional Rival KSU At HomeApr. 6, 2013 Atlanta, GA- On Thursday April 4, the Emory Eagles faced off against divisional rival, the Kennesaw State Owls. From the first whistle the Eagles controlled the tempo of the match, with Grad Student Attackman Ryan Douglas scoring three quick goals- he ended the game with six goals and two assists. In addition, Senior Attackman Ed Kovel scored five goals, and Grad Student Mike Embersit tallied four goals and four assists. Although the Owls had a surge of offense in the last quarter, the Eagles won the match 16-14, and recorded their first win over Kennesaw State in three seasons. With a win in their final divisional match, the Eagles are 3-1 against divisional opponents and 5-2 overall, and have placed themselves firmly in contention for a spot in the SELC playoffs. Emory's final home game will be Wednesday April 10th at the WoodPEC Stadium.
