Atlanta, GA – On Saturday March 23, the Emory Eagles matched up against divisional opponent, the Tennessee Wesleyan College Bulldogs. Although the Eagles were able to create offensive opportunities out of a new offense developed by Coach Carstensen, the Bulldogs scored several goals on the crease and off of down the alley shots. At halftime, the Eagles were trailing to the Bulldogs 4-6. After the Eagles calmed down and began to focus, they started getting more offensive looks. Additionally, Coach Schmidt changed the faceoff strategy on the fly allowing the Eagles to win the draw and gain more offensive possessions. Led by Grad Student attackman Ryan Douglas, who had 4 goals, the Eagles went on a 7-0 run against the Bulldogs and surged into the lead during the second half. The final score ended up at 11-7, placing the Eagles in second place in the SELC DII South West. In their next match, the Eagles will face divisional opponent Kennesaw State on Thursday, April 4th in Atlanta at Emory University.
