This season, there have been five releases of the Lax World MCLA Division 2 Top 25 Poll by CollegeLax.us. The D2 Preseason Poll on January 9th tabbed Westminster College, St. John's University (MN), the University of St. Thomas (MN), the University of Dayton, and Emory University as the top five programs that the MCLA has to offer respectively. In the three following publications, the top five remained unchanged from release to release...until today.

The 5-2 Emory Eagles have now attainted a national ranking of 4; the highest national ranking the program has ever received since its inception in 1996.

The Griffins of Westminster and the Johnnies of St. John's continue to hold down the #1 and #2 slots, while the Datyon Flyers have moved up from #4 to #3. After suffering a loss to #6 Grand Valley State, the UST Tommies have dropped from #3 to #5.

Other teams from the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference that can be found in the most recent poll include #8 Elon, #18 Charlotte and #20 Davidson of the north region, while #10 Savannah and #22 Costal Carolina represent the southern region of the league.

Coming off convincing wins against Alabama, Eckerd, and Furman, the "Dirty Birds" will look to continue their success when they round out their regional schedule against Tennessee Wesleyan on Friday afternoon in Rome, TN.
