Dirty Birds Still No. 8Mar. 21, 2007 Despite suffering a heartbreaking, overtime loss to Stonehill right before spring break, the most recent MCLA-B poll still has Emory ranked 8th in the nation. The poll was released by CollegeLax.us and Shamrock on the morning of March 21st. The Eagles next contest is this Sunday at 2 p.m. against SELC affiliate program, Georgia State. The Eagles scrimmaged the Panthers this past fall and the outcome saw Emory pulling out a win by 2. Coach Reed expects a tough showing from the first year program who exhibited a lot of skill just one semester ago. With that, Emory will have a tough week of practice ahead of them. "We are conditioning ourselves for the playoffs right now, that's what mode we're in," commented Reed. This weekend's contest against GSU will be played at neutral site, Georgia Tech. Emory will take on Tech at home in Woodruff Stadium the following weekend in an Atlanta rivalry match to wrap up the regular season. Conference playoff action will begin for the birds in the SELC-B semifinals on April 20th at Northview High School located in Duluth, Georgia. To view the Shamrock MCLA-B Poll click here.
