Eagles' Lacrosse Team Emerges as a ProgramOct. 3, 2006 Every year, developments within the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (formerly known as the United States Lacrosse Men's Division of Intercollegiate Associates) make the college "virtual varsity" or "varsity club" lacrosse experience more and more legitimate. With that, teams in both the A and B divisions of the MCLA are consistently raising the standards for their programs in order to keep up with competitors; Emory is no different. In an article published in the Emory Wheel, Jordan Jakubovitz profiles the Eagles Lacrosse team and the transition they have undergone. Robert Nugent, David Franklin, Coach Reed, Ryan Covert, and Alex Leung are featured in the article as they speak of the shortcomings of last season, the high expectations for this coming season as well as the changes that have taken place in order to bring Emory Lacrosse from an uncommitted club team to a nationally prominent program.
