Coach Stewart began his coaching career in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where he was an Assistant Coach for W.T. Dwyer High School in 2002.  After moving back to Central Ohio, he became the assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Westerville Central High School in 2003.  The following year he returned to his alma mater, Dublin Scioto High School, as the assistant coach and defensive coordinator, where he coached from 2004 to 2009.  During that time he coached numerous all-state and all-Midwest players as well as four All-Americans.


Coach Stewart was a three-year starter and all-state recipient in high school. He was a starter of the 1997 state championship team. After graduation, Brett attended the University of South Carolina, where he earned an SELC all-star spot as a freshman. The following year he transferred to Wingate University where he was a three-year starter at LSM and defense. Coach Stewart started for Wingate when the team went to the 2001 NCAA Final Four.
