Schedule Update - Mar 5, 2015

Parents and Players,

 I wanted to drop a quick line regarding our schedule before and over spring break. The high is 18 tomorrow. Hopefully this will be our last day in the gym. We have one very crowded but shoveled field that we can use – its definitely better than being inside.

Monday, 3/9: 5:15-7:00 stadium; 7:00-7:45 lift

 

Tuesday, 3/10: 5:15-6:15 lift; 6:30-7:00 ALL SPRING SPORTS MEET THE TEAM W/ MR. ULRING & CHIEF HEINZ von ECKARTSBERG – each player and a parent needs to attend. 7:15-8:45 stadium.

 

Wednesday, 3/11: 5:15-7:15 stadium;

 

Thursday 3/12: Scrimmage v Pickerington Central JV/F: 5:30, Varsity 7:30

 

Friday 3/13 -Wednesday 3/18: OFF

- There will be an optional light stick work practice for those in town: 5:15-6:30 on Wednesday.

Thursday 3/19: Scrimmage v Watterson JV/F: 5:30, Varsity 7:30

 

Friday 3/20: 5:15-7:15 stadium

 

Saturday 3/21: Scrimmage v Pickerington North JV/F: 5:30, Varsity 7:30

 

Sunday, 3/22: Varsity walk thru 2:00. JV/F OFF

- We will have standard season schedule out some time over spring break. We are still working around the schedules of several of our coaches.

 

Practice times update - Feb 26, 2015

Parents and Players,

A couple of quick notes regarding our schedule. Please see below:

Friday: 5:15-7:30: Field clearing. Players need to bring a PLASTIC shovel with something to carry snow in (trash can/recycle bin/large bucket etc).

We have had a very good first two weeks inside but we have reached the peak of what we can accomplish in a gym. We need to get outside..... Players should bundle up.

Saturday: 10:30-Noon practice; noon - 12:45 lift.
Players who have not sold 50% of their mulch: 12:45 - 2:00 with Coach Forsythe.

Monday 5:15-7:15 practice in stadium, 7:15-7:45 lift
Tuesday 5:15-7:15 practice in stadium
Wednesday 5:15-7:15 practice in stadium, 7:15-7:45 lift

With poor weather there is a good chance some schedules may need to change. We do have gym contingencies and will communicate them ASAP.

Kick off Saturday and Tryout Week - Feb 20, 2015

Players and Parents,

 A few quick notes for tomorrow:

 Players should arrive at the rec center at 7:50 and dress to run on the indoor track.

​They will also be swimming so please provide a towel and swim shorts.​ We will conclude no later than 10:30.


Please see the schedule for next week below. Obviously weather conditions are not ideal. We should have an idea about Friday and Saturdays schedule by early next week.

 Our coaching staff has been very pleased with the way our first three days have gone.

February Shamrock Report - Feb 16, 2015

Parents and Players,

Here we go. Below you will find next week’s conditioning schedule as well as the following week’s tryout schedule. There are also important notes on our spring break schedule, mulch sale, and player forms.

I wanted to make a quick note to thank our booster group. They put in an incredible amount of time for our players and program. If you see them thank them. As always if you have any questions feel free to let me know.

Conditioning Week

 Tuesday 2/17: Team Lift 6:30-7:30, Aux Gym 7:30-9:30

 Wednesday: Team Lift 6:30-7:30, Aux Gym 7:30-9:30

 Thursday: Team Lift 6:30-7:30, Aux Gym 7:30-9:30

 Friday: Morning: Time TBA

 Saturday: Rec Center: 8:00PM – 10:00 PM

 

Tryout Week:

MTWRF: 5:15-7:30.

Saturday: TBA

 

There are weather contingencies. Gym times will be available next week.

 

Spring Break:

We’ve had a tough time finishing our scrimmage schedule for various reasons. Below you will find the dates for each of them. All are at home. Varsity and JV players will have Friday March 13th – Wednesday March 18th off. I know we stated earlier that players needed to be back on Friday. If this conflicts with your travel plans let me know, I understand and apologize for the late notice.

Freshmen have spring break off but will practice on Sunday, 3/22 to prepare for their first game.

It is important to note the first game for

​Varsity​ is on Monday, 3/23 at home vs. Hudson​ at 6pm.​


Thursday, March 12th: Pickerington Central

Thursday, March 19th: Watterson

Saturday: March 21st: Pickerington North

 

Mulch:

Again, a quick thank you to our booster group and the James family for running our mulch meeting. As stated there are important needs that our program must fund, especially this year. 100% player participation is expected. The coaching staff will ensure that this is met.

 

Physicals:

Up to date annual physicals must be on hand by next week if players are to be with the team. Also, it is important that players must be taking and passing five credit hours.

 

Fundraising Information - Feb 12, 2015

Warm greetings LAX families!
Thank you to all who were able to attend Monday's LAX fundraising meeting. It went very well and it was delightful to see so many new faces as well as some we haven't seen due to winter hibernation, haha! A huge thank you and kudos goes out to Mike and Megan James for spearheading and chairing this year's mulch fundraising committee:) You are awesome and we appreciate you!
By now, all players should have received the attached documents to begin their fundraising efforts.
For your convenience I am sending everyone all of the documents and information that were handed out at the meeting. This allows you to freely make more copies of anything as needed to help ensure the success of our fundraiser. GO ROCKS LAX!!! We are WINNERS!!!

Open Gym/Lifting info - Jan 19, 2015

Players and Parents,

I wanted to drop a quick line with some information regarding our preparation running up to our season. As you may have noticed our original time for this coming Sunday's indoor was from 8-10PM. That time has been moved from 11-2 - this Sunday. We are adjusting the way we rotate players. Juniors and Seniors will go for the first hour and a half. Sophomores and Freshmen will go for the second hour and a half (Sr/Jr: 11-12:30 - So/Fr: 12:30-2).

Our first of three open gyms (stick work and conditioning) is scheduled for this Thursday at 7:30 in the aux gym. We will be finished at 9:00. Those not in a winter sport and not lifting with the football program should report to the athletic complex/stadium for lifting before the open gym at 6:30.

Attendance at open gyms, as well as indoor, is expected for those not involved in a winter sport.

Please do your best to attend, however, we certainly understand other commitments of work and activities and other sports.
Note: The first hour is 11th/12th grade, the 2nd hour is 10th grade and the last hour is freshman.
