Players and Parents,
Happy New Year 2013 is finally here. The ramp up for the season is beginning in a big way over the next week or so. Please see important information below.
Thursday Conditioning/Open Gyms:
Our off season speed/conditioning coach Coach Durant will begin joining us at open gyms this Thursday. See times for each group below. Participation for non winter athletes is expected.
Group 1: Freshmen and sophomores who did not dress for varsity last year:
7:15 8:45: Open gym. 8:45 9:15: Coach Durant.
Group 2: Juniors, Seniors, and those with varsity experience:
8:30 9:15: Open Gym. 9:15 9:45: Coach Durant.
Note: No open gyms on 1/17 and 1/31 due to the aux gym being booked.
Lifting begins this Saturday at 11:00AM. We will be lifting as a team every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30 and on Saturdays at 11:00. Coach Nelson, our head freshman coach, will be leading our lifting program. Saturday lifting will be preceded by a timed 1 mile run dress accordingly. Participation for non winter athletes is expected.
We have a tentative spring schedule regarding practice times and games. As always, times and games can change every player will be notified in person should such changes occur.
Points of note: JV practice will begin at 5:15. Varsity will begin at 6:00. Freshmen: 3:30.
Our coaching staff is incredibly excited to begin this season. Hard work in the offseason with our team and on an individual basis is going to pay off. I wish we could start practice tomorrow.
Happy New Year Lacrosse Family and Friends!
Just a few short weeks until the season begins........ So...................
We have our annual Mulch Sale coming up. The first meeting is Monday, January 28 at 7pm in the Commons.
ALL PLAYERS AND PARENTS MUST ATTEND!
This is when we will hand out mulch packets, give team assignments (senior players will be heading teams), and very valuable instructions and helpful information.
We (the board) has decreased the amount of mulch the boys will have to sell this year. 300 bags per player. Our profit is such that we really need each player to sell their 300 bags. ONLY under special circumstances will players be able to "write a check" to cover their share of the mulch sale. You will have to meet with coach to discuss this......
Please begin thinking of friends and family that will be needing mulch. Believe me it really is not that hard. In years past some families have had to sell over 800 bags.
We are the only high school in Dublin selling mulch this year! Our mulch company will deliver anywhere in Dublin......
December Lax Report
Players and Parents -
I hope your month is off to a great start and everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. Below are several updates that will take us through the new year.
- Open gyms start this Thursday, December 6th, and will continue on Thursday the 13th and 20th - same times (all sessions are in the aux gym). Open gyms will continue on Thursdays after Winter Break. Seniors need to attend both times to get us started for the first week. Attendance should be expected for this player led work. Bring full equipment and be 15 minutes early to stretch and dress.
- Freshmen and sophomores: 7:30 - 8:30
- Seniors, juniors, and sophomores who dressed for varsity last year: 8:15 - 9:15
- Conditioning with Coach Durant will start soon at his new facility in Dublin - possibly as soon as this Saturday. This schedule should be available soon.
- Lifting will start after winter break. Info coming soon.
- Christmas is a great time for players to ask for a new stick. Each player should have a back up when the season starts.
- Its not too early to schedule physicals to make sure players are ready to go in February.
- Coaches have highly encouraged our players to put in as much stick work and conditioning work as possible on their own time - the ones who put the work in will be the ones who benefit during our brief tryout week.
The season is getting close. Our coaching staff is extremely excited for 2013. Hard work in the off season will provide us with incredible possibilities this spring.
If you have any questions let me know.
Lacrosse Clothwear Meeting - Monday November 5 7pm Commons
We will order clothwear for the upcoming season
If you ordered a helmet - pick up tonight
Any more questions that can be answered before Monday - please let Brenda know.
Lettermen/Junior lacrosse players,
Below is your schedule for the first week of indoor. The entire first session schedule should be available late this week. The league is using two venues this year. I have requested that most of our games take place at the newly renovated Continent Athletic Facility. Some games will take place at the new Resolute Athletic Complex at Easton. Location information and rosters are below.
Until football season ends we are going to have to be creative to field full teams. Having our juniors and seniors play together this week will not work due to schedules; however, in the next week or so if a junior or letterman would like to play in both games during the week they are more than welcome/encouraged to participate.
I am sure many parents are willing to car pool to games - please check out the email distribution list for both teams above.
If you have any questions let me know.

MOUTHGUARDS - Dr. Edwards a local dentist here in Dublin has offered to make custom mouthguards for all lax players free of charge.

Back to School Shamrock Lax Report
Shamrock Parents and Players,
I hope this note finds you well and enjoying the end of summer. It went way too fast. Below you will find some information to keep everyone in the loop.
Freshmen parents FYI these newsletters are a little corny but hopefully they keep everyone up to date. They come about once a month.
If you have any questions let me know.
Spring 2013 Schedule:
The entirety of the schedule should be finished by the end of this month. This information should allow everyone to plan ahead for out of town games and spring break. Several important dates for varsity and JV out of town games
Saturday, April 6th @ Indian Hill
Saturday, May 11th @ Mason
Spring break dates are odd this year as it coincides with Easter. Varsity and JV players will have Friday, March 22nd through Wednesday March 26th at 5:00 off. We are planning on a game that Saturday. Hopefully this gives everyone a chance to plan on some out of town time with your families. Freshmen spring break practices are to be determined.
2013 Club Team Information:
2 local club teams have asked me to pass along information for those wishing to play in the summer (highly encouraged).
Resolute Lacrosse tryouts will be in December: www.resolutelacrosse.com
Titanium Lacrosse tryouts will be on August 19th: www.titaniumlacrosse.com
Rozanski Memorial Fund:
Our varsity players know that Captain Nick Rozanski was a very close friend of Coach Adam Beasley. Please read this email below. Any volunteers would be greatly appreciated by the Rozanski Memorial Fund
The Nick Rozanski Memorial Fund is conducting a soccer tournament on August 18th between 10 - 4 pm. The games will be played at Coffman and they are in need of volunteers to help with the event. If anyone is looking for an opportunity to spice of the college admissions resume I know volunteer work always helps. If you don't mind could you send out an email to see if anyone is interested.
Information on open fields will come sometime late this month in addition to information on fielding teams for Ohio States 7v7. We are planning on 1 7v7 at Coffman after football season ends.
The boosters need volunteers to sell football tickets at games on Friday nights this fall. Please contact Kelly Bedle at email@example.com if you have the time.
Goals are under the visitors stands of the stadium. If players want to shoot they can feel free goals need to be put back when you are done.
Best wishes to our fall athletes. Our coaches will be there pulling for you at a lot of games.

I can hardly believe that we are coming down the home stretch of the 2012 lacrosse season. Its seems like our first week was yesterday. Below you will find some important information regarding the playoffs, season honors, senior night, the banquet, and JV/F end of season meetings.
Our Varsity team will receive a bye during the first round of the tournament. Our first game will be played on Saturday at Coffman vs. the winner of St. Charles/Pickerington North at 1:00.
The winner of our game will play the winner of UA/ - W. North W. South in the regional semifinal this will be an away game played a week from Wednesday.
Congrats to Mark Guzik and Austin Seiple who made the Central D1 All Region 1st team.
Alex Chin, Mitch Richert, and Scott Fannin made the second team.
Tyler Mack and Brent Whitehead earned Honorable Mention Honors.
All OCC Awards votes will be cast on May 22nd.
Senior night takes place tomorrow evening vs. Hilliard Bradley. We would love for everyone associated with our program to be in attendance. There will be a brief reception in the commons following the game. The boosters are providing dessert
- If you cant make it I wanted to take a brief moment to brag about our seniors. This is the smallest group of seniors we've had at Coffman in some time but is the best group of committed individuals we've had as a staff. They are first class. It will not be hard to find good things to say about them at the banquet. Scott Fannin and Mitch Richert have been the finest captains we could have asked for.
IMPORTANT: FRESHMAN/JV END OF SEASON MEETINGS:
JV and freshmen can sign up for meetings after the JV game tomorrow night. Meetings will take place on Wednesday (Freshmen) and Thursday (JV) after school. These meetings usually take about ten minutes each. If need be players can send me an email to reserve a time - meetings will take place in the Coach Carlson's room.
Stay tuned for the time of the banquet. Our boosters will be in touch.
