La Costa Canyon Mavericks Girls Lacrosse

La Costa Canyon won its second game in two days, defeating Cathedral Catholic, 9-3, in a CIF-San Diego Section game on Thursday. LCC, which defeated Carlsbad in its Avocado League opener on Wednesday, has won three consecutive.

The Mavericks (4-1) got three goals each from Jackie Mills and Blaire Bender and Caitlin Zirpolo, Sara Nolte, and Kiki Gibson scored a goal each. LCC opened a 5-2 halftime lead and Paige Soenksen had eight saves.

Cathedral Catholic (3-3) got single goals from three different players and Melaniee Beddow had seven saves.
