After winning three straight section titles from 2007-09, La Costa Canyon failed to make the semifinals last season, and the Mavericks appear prepared to right that wrong this spring. LCC has eight returning starters, led by returning All-CIF San Diego Section first-team selection Jackie Mills at midfield/attack. Senior Amy Syvrud and sophomore Sara Nolte will anchor the defense, and junior midfielder Caitlin Zirpolo, senior attack Blaire Bender and sophomore Kiki Gibson will add to the Mavericks' offensive threats.
