La Costa Canyon senior goalie Taylor Langston has committed to play NCAA Division II women’s lacrosse at Florida Southern. She said she also considered Adelphi, Randolph, San Diego State and Wooster.
Langston will be on the first team that Florida Southern fields – the school added the program in September 2010 and it will debut in the spring of 2012.
Langston was a second-team All-CIF-San Diego selection in 2010. She was also named to the Adrenaline Top 100 and was a San Diego County Academic All-Star. In 2010, when the Mavericks advanced to the second round of the CIF-San Diego playoffs, Langston had 110 saves and allowed 132 goals in 811 minutes.
Langston said she picked Florida Southern for its “great atmosphere,” lacrosse coach and because it offered international studies, her field of choice, as a major.
