2011 Team Goals - Feb 7, 2011

While I do not intend to look backwards this year, we established performance goals at the beginning of 2010. The goals are player specific but are relevant to a team's won and loss record.

2010 Goals and Results: 5 wins and 11 losses;

1. Ground Balls = out ground ball the competition. 523 to 411, good. In all our wins we won the GB battle.

2. Face Offs = +55%. 142 to 274 52%, close but this is also a function of wing play too.

3. Team Defense = + 60% saves and take away. 182 saves to 336 shots 54%, close but we did not measure take away stats last year.

4. Shots = 40/game, 12 goals/game 30%. 21 shots/game, 5 goals/game 24%. Obviously this is a very poor performance and must improve.

5. EMO = +40%. 11/55 20%. Again a very poor performance.

6. MDD = +80%. 42/57 74%. Not bad but can improve.

7. Clears = 85%. 235/359 65%. This is not good and needs to improve.

2011 Goals:

We will keep these goals for this year and obviously our offense needs work. The unsettled, EMO, MDD and clearing need drastic improvement. I believe we have the talent to do it.

We have work to do. Let's keep the momentum from Hell Week going.

FUND RAISER - Jan 9, 2011

FUND RAISING

The Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, January 29^th from 7:30-9:30 at the Applebee’s Restaurant in Spring Hill.

Tickets will be given out to the boys to sell at the parent meeting this Saturday. If they cannot attend the meeting, they can call Valarie Yadon at 591-2986 to pick up the tickets from me. Thanks.

New 2011 Lacrosse Season News - Jan 6, 2011

Below is the email sent out to everyone on 1/6/2011 with the schedule.

Hello everyone, its that time again. Lacrosse season is almost ready to begin. Below is some information on the upcoming season. The schedule is attached. Please let me know if anyone has trouble opening it. Also if you hear of any player not getting the emails please let me know and I'll add them to our distribution list.

1) Coach has supplied us with the upcoming Lacrosse schedule and field assignments. For clarification on the schedule attached shows assignments of the fields for 3 teams, Independence women, Centennial Mens Lacrosse and the Franklin Knights. The Centennial High School Mens Lacrosse is shown as; CHSM.

2) The black entries are scheduled practices times. The blue entries are scheduled games.

3) There are still a few areas that are not firmed up but are being worked on; a) The schedule for the JV squad has not been set yet and b) we are working on a Memphis trip probably in the middle of March to play multiple games.

4) As last year, the schedule is subject to some possible changes as it is possible issues will come up or conflicts. We will try and let you know as early as possible.

5) I will be placing the schedule for the games on the Centennial Website.

7) We will also be posting photos from the Harpeth River Riot on the website in the near future.

8) Practice will begin on 2/1 at Academy Park (Old BGA) and run from 3:30 - 5:30, Monday through Friday. We will be practicing on both the full field and the small fields.

9) We are now working on setting up the parent meeting, news on that to come shortly but we are trying for the middle of January, and it may need to be on a Saturday.
