Baylor Wins at Rice

Houston, TX - Baylor opened the 2011 season with a 10-9 road win over LSA South opponent Rice University.  Baylor had six players score points. Sophomore midfielder Jackson Nye (5g) led the bears with a carrer high five goals including the game winner off an assist from Will Meier (2g,1a) with 2:35 left in the game.  Senior attackman Stephen Gray (2g,2a) had a very solid day as well as fellow attackman Andrew Pandora  (1g,2a). 

"The game was very close, but our guys fought hard and showed alot of effoert to finish the game off." Said Coach Cofer.  Winning his first ever game as a goalie was Zach Wortham who had 10 saves and held the door shut for the bears. Defensman  Brooks Creasey  led the team with 15 ground balls.

The Baylor Bears head north to Ft. Worth to face  TCU (0-1) on Sat. Feb 5th at 4:30 for game teo of the 2011 season.
