Baylor vs. Southwestern

Bookmark and Share Printer Friendly Feb. 14, 2008

Baylor hosted Southwestern for their season opener. The first half proved to be a great one for the Baylor offense, who capitalized on some key opportunities to take the lead after Southwestern opened up with a goal. The first half was a strong fought battle between the Bucs and the Bears, but ultimately Baylor came out on top with a 7-5 lead. During the second half, Baylor really began to show what an amazing defense they have by shutting down Southwestern for the remainder of the game. Through the tough defense, led by Preston Benditz, was playing at the top of their game, and the non-stop assault from the Bears offense and phenomenal saves by sophomore goalie Matt McPheeters, Baylor ultimately came out on top with an 11-5 victory.
